Changes to the basic health insurance 2022
The basic insurance changes every year. The premium amount can change, as can the deductible and the personal contributions. Below you will find the most important changes for 2022. For changes to our supplementary insurance policies, please refer to the appendix that you receive with your 2022 policy.
What will change in the basic health insurance as of 1 January 2022?
The healthcare premium
We will announce the new premiums no later than 12 November.
Do you receive healthcare that is covered by the basic health insurance? Then you pay part of the healthcare costs yourself. This is the statutory excess. The excess applies if you are 18 years or older. The statutory excess remains € 385 in 2022, just as in 2021.
The group discount on the basic insurance will also remain at a maximum of 5% in 2022.
Changes for Natura Select
Do you have the basic insurance Natura Select? Then in 2022, you will only be reimbursed 100% for all treatments in one of the selected hospitals. There are fewer hospitals than with our other basic insurance policies. This way we can offer you a low premium.
Are you going to a non-selected hospital? Then we pay a maximum of 75% of the average rate for which we have purchased the care.
You will be reimbursed 100% for emergency care, childbirth, or very special care in any hospital in the Netherlands.
Accommodation costs after CAR-T cell therapy
There is a new treatment available for lymphoma: CAR-T cell therapy. This therapy is available in a limited number of hospitals. Do you have to undergo this treatment and do you live more than 60 minutes from the hospital? Then we reimburse the accommodation costs in, for example, a hotel during the 2 weeks after the treatment. It is important that you get to the hospital quickly.
Electricity costs for respiratory support
Do you use mechanical respiratory support at home? Then you will be reimbursed for the electricity costs from 1 January 2022.
Recovery costs after corona
Have you had corona and do you still suffer from complaints and functional limitations? Then you are eligible for certain treatments that improve your recovery until 1 August 2022. These treatments are:
- speech therapy (all treatments are reimbursed);
- occupational therapy (up to 10 hours);
- physiotherapy or exercise therapy (up to 50 treatments);
- dietitian nutritional advice (up to 7 hours).
Conditions apply for paramedical recovery care after a corona infection. Participating in a study is part of that. This is to determine whether treatments contribute to a good recovery from your disease.
NIPT replaces combination test
The reimbursement of the combination test in the event of a medical indication has expired as of 1 October 2021. This has been replaced by the NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Test).
Change in invoices for mental health care (GGZ)
In 2022, a new invoice system will be introduced for mental health care: the ‘Zorgprestatiemodel’ (Care Performance Model). It is one system for both generalist's basic mental health care and specialized mental health care.
Invoices from your mental health care provider will be clearer from 1 January 2022. You can see exactly on which date and with whom you had a consultation, and how long it lasted.
Did you start treatment in 2021 that will continue into 2022? In that case, your care provider will close the DBC or file per 31 December 2021 and you will be billed one more time based on the old system. The new system will start on January 1, 2022. As a result, you may have to deal with additional deductibles. The content of the care will not change due to the new system.
